Learning to Blink!

I have to learn some basic animation for work.  Mostly wiggly squashy stretch stuff.  Here's my first night's practice and progression.  I will continue to make Bloberella do much more in the nights to come! (Including squash with her blink)

Test 1

Test 2
(not much different visually, but different in my attempt)

Test 3
Took what I learned from my 2 quick tests, and set out to make something more complex.

Here is a Test 4 where I played with timing, the frames as she closes her eyes went faster.  However, .gif doesn't seem to save it out any different than my Test 3.

Wish me luck with continuing!

elk and forest sprite

Just finished this lady and  her deer friend up, and made a lil crazy process gif to go with it!
there's not as many steps in the coloring, and they aren't direct steps, just different attempts, because I didn't save the layers in the coloring process the same way that I do when I'm sketching.  I'll have to save save layers more consistently, cause I enjoy getting to see the little gif in the end :)

Altaïr's bracer

So I finally get to reveal one of my projects that I've been working on!  For my one year anniversary of dating my boyfriend, I finally ventured into the world of prop making and created Altaïr's arm brace for his hidden blade.  My boyfriend is a big fan of the Assassin's Creed series, and had already bought himself the blade piece alone, but no hidden blade is complete without the bracer, so I set myself to work.  :)

The only hitches with it were that I had miss-judged the strap sizes and had to re-make them.  A quick trip to Michael's fixed that problem easy.  We also worked together to create a fitting on his existing blade in order to strap it all together, and make the two pieces complete.  Yay for two part epoxy!!!  It was fun finishing up this project working with each other, and I can't wait for more projects like this down the line.

(Just a note to re-iterate, I had no hand in making the actual blade, I only added fittings to make it all strap together as one piece.)

Meet the Marozi!

I have been waiting and waiting for this guy to finally come out in Tiny Castle so that I could show it to everyone!  I'm very proud of this.  I feel that I hit a milestone in my vectoring techniques, the Marozi was really rewarding to work on.  He's a good example of the kind of artwork that I've been doing at TinyCo lately.

I will post my original sketches soon.

Baby Sirens

Here's a few lil' siren sketches I'm about to experiment with coloring.  Watch out, they'll probably eat you if you get too close.

Hello! and sketchbook!

Never really announced it to my blog, but I've moved to Emeryville and have a job now in San Francisco.  The job is amazing, the city is amazing, and life is awesome!  Also, I've been drawing a lot lately, sooooooo...
Have a sketchbook dump!
